Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: May 15, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your conduct when interacting with Zed IT Tech across all platforms, including zedittech.com, the Zed IT Tech Discord server, and the Zed IT Tech Reddit community. By using any of these platforms, you agree to follow this policy.

The goal of these spaces is simple: a respectful, inclusive environment where people can learn IT concepts, ask questions, share knowledge, and grow. These guidelines exist to protect that environment.

1. Core Principles

All Zed IT Tech spaces operate on the following principles:

  • Be respectful. Treat everyone with basic human dignity regardless of their skill level, background, or experience.
  • Be constructive. Criticism should be helpful, not hostile. If you disagree, explain why.
  • Be honest. Do not impersonate others, misrepresent your credentials, or spread misinformation.
  • Stay on topic. Keep discussions relevant to IT, technology, education, and related subjects.

2. Prohibited Conduct — All Platforms

The following behaviors are not permitted in any Zed IT Tech space:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or personal attacks directed at any individual
  • Hate speech, discrimination, or content that demeans individuals based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, nationality, or any other protected characteristic
  • Sharing, soliciting, or distributing malware, exploit code, or tools intended for unauthorized access to systems
  • Posting content that facilitates illegal activity
  • Sharing personal information about others without their consent (doxxing)
  • Spam, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive self-promotion
  • Impersonating Zed IT Tech, Isaiah Lawrence, moderators, or other community members
  • Posting NSFW, explicit, or graphic content
  • Circumventing moderation actions (bans, mutes, or content removals)

3. Website Etiquette

When using zedittech.com and the contact form:

  • Use the contact form for genuine inquiries only. Do not submit spam, automated messages, or irrelevant content.
  • Do not attempt to probe, test, or attack the Site's infrastructure.
  • Do not use automated tools to scrape or harvest content from the Site without prior written permission.
  • Report genuine security vulnerabilities responsibly by contacting ZedITTech@gmail.com rather than exploiting or disclosing them publicly.

4. Discord Community Guidelines

The Zed IT Tech Discord server (discord.gg/hj3QNKdfGX) is a community space for IT learners and professionals. In addition to the core principles above:

  • Use the appropriate channels for your topic. Read channel descriptions before posting.
  • Keep conversations constructive. "This doesn't work" is not helpful. "This doesn't work, here's what I've tried" is.
  • Do not share pirated software, license keys, or cracked tools.
  • Direct Messages (DMs) to other members for solicitation, advertising, or harassment are prohibited.
  • Voice channel etiquette applies: no disruption, background noise abuse, or audio that degrades the experience for others.
  • Moderator decisions are final. If you believe a decision was made in error, contact via the contact form rather than arguing publicly.

Violations may result in warnings, temporary mutes, or permanent bans at moderator discretion.

5. Reddit Community Guidelines

The Zed IT Tech Reddit community (reddit.com/r/ZedITLearn) operates under both this AUP and Reddit's own site-wide rules and Content Policy. In addition:

  • Posts and comments should contribute value to the discussion.
  • Low-effort posts, memes unrelated to IT education, or off-topic content may be removed.
  • Self-promotion is permitted only when you are also an active, contributing community member. Pure advertising accounts will be removed.
  • Follow Reddit's rules regarding vote manipulation, brigading, and ban evasion.

6. Ethical Use of IT Knowledge

Zed IT Tech teaches security, networking, and systems concepts for defensive and educational purposes. You agree not to use knowledge or skills gained through Zed IT Tech content to:

  • Gain unauthorized access to systems, networks, or data you do not own or have explicit permission to access
  • Intercept communications without authorization
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks or disrupt services
  • Engage in any activity that violates the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act or equivalent laws in your jurisdiction

Always practice in authorized lab environments. Zed IT Tech assumes no responsibility for how knowledge is applied outside of ethical and legal contexts.

7. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in removal of content, temporary or permanent suspension from community platforms, or reporting to relevant authorities where illegal activity is involved. Enforcement decisions are made at the discretion of Zed IT Tech and its moderators.

8. Changes to This Policy

This AUP may be updated periodically. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued participation in Zed IT Tech spaces after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
